Who is the PCS student?

Park Century’s program is specifically tailored to meet the needs of your child who has average to superior intellect and language-based learning challenges. Students who apply to PCS have not yet unlocked their uncommonly bright abilities due to academic struggles or challenges presenting as problems with acquisition of reading, written language, and/or math.

We believe your child who learns differently can triumph over their differences and not only thrive, but excel in the mainstream.

A typical PCS student has a primary diagnosis of a language-based learning difference, such as dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, or another processing deficit. Often, this is combined with a diagnosis of ADHD, which impacts their executive functioning and metacognition. Our evidence-based program utilizes the latest research on brain plasticity and neurodiversity, allowing us to celebrate your child's uniqueness while also remediating academic struggles.

Park Century identifies students we can best support through:

a comprehensive review of prior academic history
neuropsychological testing
interviews
direct observation of a student's learning processes, temperament, and behavior

Our admissions process aims to determine whether your child’s academic or social-emotional needs will be served most appropriately by attending our school. The school is not equipped to meet the needs of children with low cognitive function or a diagnosis of behavioral conduct disorder. We are unable to serve students who require one-on-one companions or shadows.
